Course structure
The Master’s programme in Business Informatics – Digital Business & Analytics is aimed at graduates with a Bachelor’s degree in economics or computer science-related subjects.
To ensure a consistent level of knowledge, the programme includes a targeted foundation phase comprising two core Bachelor’s-level modules. Depending on your individual prior knowledge, this will enable you to acquire the necessary economics or computer science knowledge required for the remainder of your studies.
The compulsory modules of the Master’s programme include the core lecture on Business Informatics and the lecture on Methods of Business Informatics. These programme-specific modules cover specific methods, tools and topics in Business Informatics.
In addition to the compulsory modules, you can set your own individual focus areas within extensive compulsory elective modules. Specific compulsory elective modules on Digital Business and Analytics are offered, allowing you to combine suitable lectures from the departments of Economics and Computer Science. Furthermore, the specialisation area offers a wide range of further options from Economics, Computer Science and Mathematics.
Another key component of the programme is two exclusive practical projects with partner companies. Here, you can consolidate your theoretical knowledge using relevant practical examples and applications. The programme is complemented by an additional key qualification (ASQ), for example on ethics in technology/algorithms. The programme concludes with a Master’s thesis in the field of Digital Business or Analytics.
Further information on the various modules can be found in the module handbook.
