Christian Winkler joined the HCI Group in September 2010. Prior to that, he worked as a developer for online services in an agency and in the Pervasive Computing group at the University of Duisburg-Essen under the Head of Office of Prof Albrecht Schmidt. In 2011 he worked for a while as a research assistant and then as a consultant for Microsoft Research in Cambridge, UK.

Christian holds a B.Sc. in Media Informatics & Design (2007) from the University of Bielefeld and an M.Sc. in Applied Computer Science - Systems Engineering from the University of Duisburg-Essen (2010). The title of his master's thesis was: SENSE-SATION: An Extensible Platform for the Integration of Phones into the Web (see publications).
