How to get to Ulm
We suggest you install the for reliable route and connection planning. This app provides information about all train connections by Deutsche Bahn, whether local or long-distance.
Within the city of Ulm/Neu-Ulm, it is recommended to use the , although the DB Navigator also provides information about city transport. The conference ticket will include a ticket for public transport within Ulm/Neu-Ulm.
From Memmingen
The best way to get to Ulm from Memmingen Airport is by bus and regional train, which usually takes 60 to 75 minutes. From Memmingen Airport, you can take bus lines 810A and 2 to Memmingen railway station (Memmingen, Bahnhof ZOB) in about 10 minutes, there is also a regular shuttle bus service. From Memmingen railway station, you can reach Ulm in 35 to 50 minutes with regional trains RE75 or RS7.
From Munich
The best way to get to Ulm from Munich airport is to travel from Munich Airport to Munich Pasing, or Munich East by S8 (towards Herrsching) and take an ICE/IC from there. The trip takes about 2:15h.
There are also several local public transport connections from Munich Airport, which usually take around 3 hours: From Munich Airport, take the S8 (towards Herrsching) to Munich Pasing. From Munich Pasing, take RE9 directly to Ulm. Alternatively, you can take RE96/RE72 to Memmingen and then change to RE75 to Ulm.
It is also possible to take a , which departs from Munich ZOB to Ulm. The best way to get from the airport to Munich ZOB is to take the S8 (towards Herrsching) to Munich Hackerbrücke and walk the rest of the way. To reach Ulm city center from the Flixbus stop you can use tram line 1 or local buses.
From Stuttgart
From Stuttgart Airport, you can take the X10 bus to Wendlingen Neckar ZOB and then the RE 200 to Ulm which takes about 1:20h. You can also travel from Stuttgart Airport to Ulm in about 1:40h using a long-distance train from Stuttgart Central Station.
There is a fast connection to Ulm with the FlixBus which runs regularly and takes approx. 60-70 minutes, depending on the time of day. Tickets can be purchased and in the app.
