As part of the Long Evening of Science, Ulm University is offering a wide-ranging programme for the whole family on Friday 8 May, from 4.00 pm to 8.00 pm, covering everything from biology and medicine to technology. This time, the focus is on mathematics and economics with âM4Night â Patterns, Models, Markets, Peopleâ. Another highlight is the lecture by Professor Julian Nida-RĂŒmelin to mark Constitution Day. Admission to the Long Evening is free!
Visitors to the Long Evening of Science are invited to get a taste of campus life and experience science up close. You can carry out experiments yourself and find out about the latest research findings or studying at university. Lectures, demonstrations, guided tours and hands-on activities are suitable for children, young people, families and anyone else interested. A total of over 90 programme items await curious guests at the University of Ulm, including the Botanical Garden and the TTU Training Hospital. Advance online registration is required for some of the hands-on medical activities.
As part of M4Night, the Faculty of Mathematics and Economics has put together a varied programme focusing on mathematical problems, AI and data science, as well as simulations and financial services. Students will present their award-winning final theses (H4/5, 4.00 pm), and during the âMatheMindâ show, two bestselling authors will invite the audience to rediscover mathematics (H4/5, 7.15 pm).
To mark, Professor Julian Nida-RĂŒmelin, former Minister of State, will speak on the relationship between democracy and science and ask what role truth plays. His lecture âDemocracy, Truth and Scienceâ begins at 4.30 pm in H11.
